uring our time in Europe for the 2019 Women’s World Cup in Lyon, France, we decided to take a day trip over to Geneva, Switzerland. Only an hour and a half drive it was a no brainer (especially considering we were beginning to lose our patience with the ever so kind French locals).

We were lucky enough to meet a local from Geneva in our hotel in France and she gave us quite a few recommendations for places to visit. Restaurant Les Armures was one such recommendation and we absolutely loved it!

Located in the Medieval area of Geneva, the setting of Restaurant Les Armures could not be more authentic. We ate on the patio surrounded by the towering walls of ancient stone and narrow passageways. Seated promptly, we drooled over the menu for several minutes before deciding on a crispy veal cutlet and fondue. Fun fact, Geneva is actually the birthplace of fondue (and I had never tried it before) so naturally we needed to order a pot.

The waiters as Restaurant Les Armures were kind and attentive (something we couldn’t say for any of our servers in France) and were helpful in recommending some of their best dishes. We almost never have dessert at home in the States, but when in Europe do as the Europeans….AKA espresso after EVERY meal and a wonderfully dairy-filled dessert after dinner.

Despite several incredibly tempting options at Restaurant Les Armures, we decided to go with a nice tiramisu and cappuccino. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list of must-visits in Geneva! All location information can be found to the right!

Restaurant Les Armures is technically a part of the Hotel Les Armures although you do not need to go through the hotel to access the restaurant. It can be accessed from the street Rue du Soleil-Levant. It should be easy to find as you will see the outdoor seating overlooking L’ancien arsenal, the outdoor display of vintage cannons and ancient mosaics.

Lastly, if you read the golden plaque hanging to the right of the entrance you will find a letter written by Bill Clinton remarking on how much he and Hillary enjoyed their meal at Restaurant Les Armures!
